Van Batteries
Van Battery Replacement | Mobile Commercial Battery Fitting
A van that won't start is a van that isn't earning. We fit heavy-duty commercial batteries at depots, driveways and roadside locations across Warwickshire and the Midlands, from early-morning call-outs before a shift starts to breakdowns mid-route.

- Heavy-duty, higher-CCA batteries for commercial vehicles
- Early-morning depot and driveway visits before your shift
- Twin-battery and leisure setups catered for
Downtime costs more than the battery
For most car drivers, a flat battery is an inconvenience. For a van driver, it's a missed drop, a delayed job, or a day's earnings gone. We know commercial customers can't wait around indefinitely, so van battery jobs get the same urgency as a roadside recovery call, whether that's a sole trader's Transit on a driveway or a fleet vehicle stuck at a depot.
Heavy-duty and higher CCA requirements
Vans place bigger demands on a battery than the equivalent car. Larger diesel engines need more cranking amps to turn over, especially from cold, and commercial vehicles often carry extra electrical load from work equipment that keeps drawing power even with the engine off. A battery specified for a car of similar size simply won't have the capacity or cold cranking amps (CCA) a van needs.
We fit batteries specified to the correct CCA and capacity for the vehicle, not a generic like-for-like swap based on physical size alone.
Diesel cranking in cold weather
Diesel engines are harder to start from cold than petrol equivalents, needing a stronger, more sustained current draw to get compression up before the engine fires. Combine a cold Warwickshire morning with a battery that's already past its best, and a van that started fine the night before can refuse to turn over at all when it matters most.
Fitting a battery with the correct cold cranking amps for the engine, rather than the cheapest match available, makes a real difference to reliability through the winter months.
Tail lifts, beacons, inverters and tracker drain
Commercial vans are rarely just a cab and a load bay any more. Tail lifts, roof beacons, power inverters, refrigeration units and vehicle trackers all draw current, and several of them keep drawing it even when the ignition is off. That constant background drain puts extra strain on the battery between drives, particularly on vans that sit for a day or two between routes.
When we replace a battery on a van fitted with this kind of equipment, we make sure the replacement has the capacity to cope with both the engine's starting demands and the ongoing parasitic load from everything else wired into the vehicle.
- Tail lift hydraulics and control units
- Roof-mounted beacons and warning lights
- Power inverters for tools or equipment
- Trackers and telematics units
Twin-battery and leisure setups
Some vans, particularly those converted for trade use or as campers, run a twin-battery arrangement — a starter battery dedicated to the engine and a separate leisure battery for equipment, lighting or living accommodation. These setups need the correct type of battery in each role, since a leisure battery is built for deep, repeated discharge in a way a standard starter battery isn't.
We fit and replace both sides of a twin-battery system, matching the right battery type to the right role rather than treating it as a single generic swap.
Vans we regularly fit batteries to
We fit batteries across the full range of commercial vehicles on the road, including the models we see most often around Warwickshire.
- Ford Transit and Transit Custom
- Mercedes Sprinter
- Vauxhall/Renault Vivaro
- Fiat Ducato
- Volkswagen Crafter
Early-morning depot and driveway visits
We understand van drivers often need to be moving before most garages open. We fit batteries at depots, yards and driveways early in the morning where it's needed, so a dead battery doesn't cost you a full day's routes. We typically aim to reach customers within about 30–45 minutes on average, though this depends on location and demand at the time.
