Stop start battery replacement
An automatic stop-start system switches the engine off at every junction and restarts it again seconds later. A conventional battery was never designed for that duty cycle, which is why manufacturers specify a dedicated car battery for stop start use — either EFB or AGM.
A tell-tale sign that a stop start battery is tiring is the system quietly giving up: the engine stops cutting out at lights, often long before the car struggles to start. That is the energy management system protecting a battery it can see is losing capacity, and it is a good moment to think about replacement.
